Le Temps Perdu Guest Cottage
We have just returned from an incredible 5 night stay at Le Temps Perdu with Tracey and Hermann and just had to share our experiences in this review...
Le Temps Perdu transcends you to a simpler time filled with rustic elegance, natural beauty and world-class hospitality. Tracey and Hermann strive to make your visit 100% catered to the type of vacation that you imagine it to be. There is unlimited potential for unique local outdoor adventures while at the same time it is a retreat for quiet reflection and quality time spent with those you love around the beautiful wood stove.
Each day brought a new and exciting adventure. From snowshoeing to the top of Blueberry Mountain, horseback riding lessons with Hermann, antique and bargain hunting in historic and romantic Perth and discovering each morning the beautiful trails right at the cabins own front doors. But some things remained constant each day: A warm and steady fire, a clean, safe and welcoming environment and the ability to spend countless hours reading from the intricate cabin library. We were free to live each day on our own terms. And it was bliss.
Their passion and love for their property, its heritage and its wildlife are captivated through intricate storytelling and a deep respect for the land. They have the ability to make you feel like old friends but at the same time respect your need for privacy if you wish. We cannot say enough about their kindness and generosity but perhaps the fact that we are already planning our next visit and miss them already is all that needs to be said.
Justin, Bianca and Sadie ( our King Charles Spaniel) Oh yeah, its pet friendly !!

We had a fantastic time here. Tracy and Herman were fantastic hosts and outdid themselves with considerate touches like bringing us hot chocolate in the evening and giving us great tips on visiting the surrounding areas. The cabin was adorable and very comfortable. This place is perfect. We will definitely be coming back!

Tracey and Hermann are wonderful hosts! They are very thoughtful, helpful and accommodating. My partner and I arrived to a warm fire and delicious cookies. The place is charming and cozy. We were able to cook our meals and enjoyed spending time inside. We also had some lovely walks on their property and we felt well guided by our hosts, who provided a map and some tips for sights to see. Tracey and Hermann were very willing to help us out and they were also mindful of providing us with space. We had a very enjoyable time, and appreciated the efforts of our hosts, including surprise desserts! It was a lovely trip and we would be happy to stay again!

Tracey and Hermann are exceptional hosts. So personable and accommodating with incredibly considerate added touches that made our stay especially lovely and warm! From little surprise treats in the evenings to history and area information and good conversation, we could not have felt more welcome or entertained. The cabin itself is cozy and practical and beautiful furnished. Thanks so much and we will be back!

Tracey and Herman were excellent hosts striking that perfect balance between making us feel welcome and at home while not intruding on our privacy. The little touches such as Tracey's home baking and making sure we didn't want for anything was wonderful.
The cabin was clean, cozy, well equipped and perfect for a long weekend getaway for us to relax and recharge.
We'll definitely be back in the summer for a motorcycle tour of the area, using this cabin as a home base.

I don't normally write reviews but this one had to be written. Tracey and Hermann are outstanding hosts, from the moment we arrived we felt very welcome. The cabin is just as adorable as it looks in the photos, they had a fire going and some cheese and fruit for us in the fridge. We took a lovely walk with them in the evening to see the horses and had great conversation. They were also very accommodating in terms of letting us have lots of private time to ourselves. The property is beautiful, a perfect winter getaway as it's so cozy in the cabin. Nothing beats curling up by the wood stove with a glass of wine. We've been recommending it to our family and friends and would go back in a heart beat. Thank you so much Tracey and Hermann for the hospitality!

We stayed 2 nights in Le Temps Perdu during the winter season. The experience was unforgettable. The cabin has a wood burning stove and electric heat for the cold nights, we always felt warm and comfortable. The attention to detail was first rate, the cabin was tastefully decorated, water was provided in a large glass cooler as well as various other items that created at atmosphere of care and tranquility. Private heated washroom had a large bathtub which was perfect for relaxing. The bedding was all natural feather; we both agreed the mattress was among the most enjoyable we've experienced. Tracey and Herman were excellent hosts making sure we had everything we needed while making it easy for us to go on our own, privacy was exceptional.
The cabin is located approximate 20 mins from Westport and Perth. In Perth we had a great time shopping followed by a 1st rate dinner at restaurant "55". Having been to many restaurants in the Niagara and Toronto area, 55 is among the best we've enjoyed.
Since coming back we haven't stopped talking about this cottage. Highly recommend to anyone interested in a uniquely positive experience. Tracey and Herman you have created an incredible destination, i hope many more people get to enjoy it as much as we have.

Tracey and Hermann were incredibly welcoming and we really enjoyed our stay at their guest house. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable there with our toddler. They have a beautiful property and love to share it with guests. Tracey took us on a guided trail walk and we got to meet Hermann's horses. They also loaned us their canoe and put it in the lake for us, and showed us an island that we could swim from - we had such a full day! It was exactly what we were hoping for - a relaxing nature retreat. They are really lovely and we definitely recommend the place if you're looking for relaxation in a beautiful natural setting. They also gave us some good recommendations for our brief visit to Perth, which is a really charming town and worth a visit.
